John Edwards & Nicky Russell

The Siciliano by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco for flute and guitar, recorded at Bristol Guitar Club in 1997 on a Sony Walkman cassette recorder, left to mature in a drawer for fifteen years and then remastered by Red Moon. Wonderful performance and a magic sound. Available as a free CD quality download below

Sole Doubt

These tracks come from an EP recorded and released in 1988, recently remastered by us from an old cassette. We think they’re great and love the old cassette sound and eighties vibe. Just one unfortunate drop-out on one track and we’re trying to find a better copy to put this right. Really enjoyable listening though, and available as a free CD quality download below

OK Chorale

Formed by Anthony Newman in the early eighties OK Chorale were an a cappella vocal group who performed for ten years all over the place, including regular appearances at the Edinburgh Festival and a tour of the US, and on the way recorded a number of albums. These tracks are from the debut album, released on cassette and recently recovered and remastered. We’re hoping to bring you more if the tapes have survived the years. ‘On the Slow Train’ is a real gem.

Ink Spots with Wally Stott and his Orchestra

'When We Say Hello' was written by Revell Terry and Derek Maxwell (Pete's uncle). This is a recording by The Ink Spots with Wally Stott and his orchestra, released on Philips in 1962 and recently rescued from a warped piece of vinyl. Complete with pops and crackles and it still sounds good.

Clive Kemp

These performances are taken from a cassette of a recording made in a home studio by one the RM team in 1984 at the top of the stairs in a house in Bristol and recently recovered and remastered. Still working on them so they’re just for listening. If we can make the whole album sound good we’ll make it available as a download.
